Got a slight issue with my 1990 rev 1 turbo, I'm hoping you can point me in the right direction with.
Over the past couple of months
(when warm) when I planted my foot there would be a bit of hesitation and almost jerkyness when accelerating to begin with once it reached boost. Then after a minute or two would be fine. Then last week (I only drive the car about once every few weeks) I planted the foot and it felt like all boost just disappeared. When the boot is down the boost gauge still goes up as normal to full, but the overall boost/power is significantly down.
I had the car in for an MOT yesterday and it sailed through that, and they turned the boost up to 12psi, but it still feels sluggish with much less spooling and waste gate noise.My old man washed out the engine bay with a hose a couple of months ago
(when the issues started....) so not sure if that could have been the instigator. Any idea/suggestions would be greatly welcomed
