Aftermarket LSD's

Does anyone here run either a TRD or Quaife LSD?

Looking at options. I have a brand new TRD differential available to me currently, part number 41301-SW211. Unsure if it's a 2 way or 1.5, Ideally I'd prefer a 1.5 way as it's more forgiving. All I know is it's brand new.

Problem is I've never been a fan of clutch pack LSD's as I find them too grabby which lead me to the Quaife diff. Being helical it would be a much better drive I'd of thought but I'm open to be proven wrong.

Any feedback anyone?

I have a quaife and previous had a rather poor turbo LSD in an E153. As it's a road car there isnt a massive difference. I'm sure the turbo LSD (like most of them) was so old it kind of functioned like an open diff.

You notice it when driven hard, when of course its less prone to wheelspin and more likely to make the car head straight on.

I've just had my first month or so driving with the Quaiffe- gotta say I love it, it is so much more controlled when you do break traction- a lot of the time you don't even realise you've spun up...but when you do launch it hard it's a pleasure

I've been wanting to swap my OEM lsd for some time now for the Quaife unit.
Only thing is i've never opened up the E153 before and I don't want to bite more off than I can chew.
Can any of you comment on the difficulty of the job if you did it yourself?
