Grey sills as standard? (Also paint code question)

Post by outrun »

As my Rev 2 turbo is at the painters, I thought I would ask the experts about my sills.

They have a grey stone chip type finish at the minute, they also look to have never been painted. Did some cars come with this two-tone finish as standard?

I like it, as it ties in with the unpainted splitter and grey side strips.
I'm thinking of retaining it, regardless.

Most pics I see look more like the Rev 5 I bought for parts, being body coloured.

Any ideas?

Also, anyone know the colour code for the metallic grey on my side strips, were cars available in it?

The comparison pics are more for me than anything else, as there is a remote possibility that I may have the strips done black.

Any help appreciated, cheers.

Hi mate

Rev1 and Rev2 had dark grey/black rather than colour coded sills and front splitter and lower rear portion of the rear bumper.

From memory the dark stone chip and paint on the sills didn't go right to the top probably 6/7th of way up, with the top few mm being body colour. Almost like it was all sprayed body colour originally and then topped with the dark stone chip only as high as they thought necessary.

Not sure about the colour code.
