yeah - supercharging brings you a new set of challenges and costs - aftermarker (or lotus) ECU, larger injectors, charge cooling of some sort, more weight (where you don't want it), more complexity of servicing. I think that you'd get to maybe 400bhip. If you want to go over 300, the 3s-gte may be a better choice.

Try a ride in a normal, N/A 2gr car first and see if you think it's worth the investment.

The 2GR just pumps out instant freight train-like torque.

You are looking at £1000 for a programmed ecu from Lotus. I went for a lotus wiring harness as well. The supercharger price depends on whether you can find one. Plus there are other numerous parts that soon add up.

After watching again this car of matey's is not supercharged but he mentions about the possibility of one from a kit available or from another car.

Not now :-) Get yourself over to mr2oc.com and see what Gouky has been up to. He can now flash Toyota ECU's! Basically means we can have our superchargers installed, and keep the stock toyota ecu. No more going down the Lotus route. Fantastic news as that'll save us £0000's

Wait a min, are you saying that the 3S-GE ECU can now be flashed and remapped!?

Gouky has worked out how to modify bits of the 2gr-ecu, mainly because he wanted to remove the immobiliser and some of the auto-box transmission fault codes that were preventing cars passing muster in California.

He's also found the location of some registers for things like fuel cut/max rpm, and observed that the maps of the rav4 and the sienna ECUs differ a bit.

I'm not sure he'd be willing to do the same for the 3s-ge engine - is there a more performant 3s-ge car that you could clone in the map from ?

I already have the Lotus ecu, with the latest Lotus map on. We need the Lotus ecu so we can run the clocks and the sport mode function. Also there are functions like ambient temp and the tyre pressure sensors that can be incorporated using the Lotus ecu.
