eccentric rod guide kit, free to a good home

Post by barclar »

Hi all,

I sold my Mk2 turbo 3 years ago, when isofix became my motoring priority, but just found a package of parts for the eccentric rod guide conversion to fix the leaking t-bar. I never got round to installing them as several doses of silicone spray did a good enough job.

As per: http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/kb.php?mode=article&k=27

Would anyone like them? Free to a good home. First come first served if there's many takers.

PM me your address and I'll post.

Cheers,
Rob

Ach man, this would be amazing. I've had leaky passenger side this year that's been awful. That's very kind of you, may I have them please?

Cheers

androo007, I feel for you but mark got in first with the pm too. Sorry. Keep applying the Halfords silicone lubricant...

Not to worry.... thanks anyway.

+ kudos to you man for a generous offer :thumleft:

Do you literally just spray the seals where they join?

I found the spray went everywhere, so sprayed into a cloth then rubbed on. But yeah, the rubber seals. iirc there's seals fixed around the roof that the glass sits on and another on the tbar itself for the window glass to butt into. I repeated several times over a couple of weeks.

If that doesn't work Mr T probably still sells the bits.

Or try adhesive foam draught excluder strip. Looks xxxx but can be effective.

Writing this I really miss my MR2s. Garage shows my old mk1 but in reality it's a golf estate these days.
