Not sure if they'd be any help to you, but I gave Jolly Green Monster a call back when I had my Scoob as they came highly recommended from other owners. They work on other marques too so worth a try!

EDIT

Really sorry to say that I just discovered Simon (owner of JGM) passed away back in November, so probably closed :(

even when i was running a tooth out on the cambelt in addition to adjustable cam gears and cams!

once cambelt sorted, could drop the idle lower.

is it warn starts that are the issue?
like when getting some petrol etc?

or general warm running?

perhaps the warm start up settings havent be adjusted properly. ie its dumping way too much fuel on a warm start.

It's when it's warm it's a problem. Stop/start is an issue and when you let it engine break to a stop it starts bucking when warm.

Idle fluctuations are to high, from 930rpm to 830rpm and when the SMIC fan comes on it doesn't compensate well

Mmm, i wouldn't be happy with all of that Odin.
Really should be rectified by the original guy though I'm sure you've tried!

yeah that's bonkers

did you pay him with cash? I'd be seeing about getting my money back, if you paid by credit card it could be done. Either way I'd be phoning trading standards. Poor show. Maybe chuck a post up in trader feedback as well.

Hope you get it sorted :pale:

In the interest of reviving an old thread, I'm looking at getting a standalone ECU and boost controller fitted. I live 20 minutes from Abbey and have had work carried out by them before ( suspension and alignment setup ) and it left me with a good feeling.

very profesional, however expensive !

Recently asked Scott to compile me an estimate for fitting, of what they highly recommend ( and push quite hard ) a Link G4 with on board boost control.
Received the estimate through. All fitted and mapped .... £2254.50 !

As you can imagine I was a little shocked, I understand nearly half of that price
is due to the ECU etc itself, but still a lot of money.
However Mark has over ten years worth of knowledge fitting and mapping the Link system I'm thinking is it better to "stick with the devil you know"

whats you thoughts on this price ?

Hi Jim, what are my other options of ECU and Boost Control ?
I only seem to know Apexi Power FC and your choice of boost controller
or the Link full system.

Ideally I want to keep the costs down, but dont want a second rate system, the Apexi is a very old ECU nowadays isn't it ?
not that my 21 year old 3s-gte is a spring chicken !

im not very clued up on the latest systems, as i have no plans to go to any.
pfc is tried and tested. is it the best, probably not, will you be happy with it though, yes.
it is the cheapest full standalone option, mapping shouldnt be more than £300-400 really on one.

If you can find either a Link or Motec get yourself to Fensport.

Link G4+ Storm would be my pick. Motec are now discontinued, but if you can find one Adrian is the guy for that.

Abbey Motorsport are close to me too, doesn't mean they are the best to go to. Their MAIN expertise lie with Nissan. The only reason I'd go to them is to use the rolling road they have AFTER I've had it mapped elsewhere.

I've done most of the leg work and gone through all the crap mappers to say this. Now my car run like OEM with my spec.

I'm not going to lie, going down this route isn't cheap, but getting done right first time will save you a lot of time, money and petrol :)

Any other questions, feel free to PM me

Massively helpful, thanks pal. I'm waiting on a call back from
Fensport today so will keep onto them and see what info they provide.
Dont get me wrong I know its not going to be a cheap process, but
for that money I want to be making sure I'm picking the correct fitters and mappers.

Would it be better to try and source a Link storm ECU myself
or will Fensport be able to source it for pretty much the same cost ?

looks like we must have had exactly the same call.

Link Atom comes in at 1300 installed and mapped. if you want to go up to the storm, double the cost of the ecu (£1300)

Who's best to map the Apexi FC these days anyway?

Ryan @ 2bar is long gone in Dubai by the looks of it...

I got lucky and got mine second hand here for around £800. Bought a 4 bar map sensor. Mine only had a 2.5bar map sensor.

All new Link + as far as I'm aware come with 3bar sensors. Shop around and check places life Driftworks and Ebay so try your luck

Hi Steve

Thanks bud, actually spoke with Tom at Fensport
Earlier this afternoon. Incredibly helpful and put my
Faith in them as a company. Described the differences
Between the Atom , storm and Extreme and advised for my
Purposes that the Atom would be easily enough.

Priced it at around £1000 give or take for mapping time
Supplied and fitted.

Gonna save up and go with them.

Jordan.

Mate.....that's not the story I was given at all. They sent me the invoice for the atom ecu at 819 quid alone.

Then want approx 150-200 for install and 300ish for mapping..... expect an additional 50% on top.

How they can give such wildly different quotes within a fortnight for the same thing confuses me.

TBH mate they could have made a mistake when quoting me as the signal was lacking. But hey once verbally quoted then its LAW lol.

I guess ill find out when I get it done, however its way better then £2254.00 !!
