Hi all
I'm continuing my search for a good low mileage Rev4/5 and I was just wondering if any one knows the car linked below on autotrader? Looks a nice example.
Cheers
Paul

I don't recognise it but looks like a very nice example (on the surface at least!) Shame about the lack of turbo though
Also in the last photo the revs are sitting pretty high, but the owner could just have their foot on the throttle. Not sure why you'd do that for a photo..
Looks nice .. as said revs are high on idle ... he/she could have blipped the throttle taking the pic ... worth a look
Ps i dont no much about non turbos .. so pinch of salt mate
But i like it for what its worth
Kev.

I'm guessing from the temp gauge that the revs are the auto choke doing what an auto choke does.
Shame there's no shots of the engine bay, gives a good indication of how the car has been cared for, that and how much it has been exposed to the elements.
Always a giveaway when you see a freshly polished body but the engine bay looks like it's been suspended in salt most of its life.

What about the black one thats 1000 less and not much more on its clock? Not many pics but worth a look.

It's on the "potential's" list but I tend to get put off by lack of photos and description. As you say, may be worth a look.

Have to admit I thought the revs a bit odd too and something to follow up on if I pursue that one.

MOT History on the black one suggests a few more miles than the 100k advertised. Think I'll pass on that one!

Hmm, yes. MOT history says nearly 120,000. Thems haggling points for a cheaper deal. If looked after the number on the odometer can be irrelevant. I had my 94 na gt up to 150,000m and the thing hadn't missed a beat.
About the revs, I was just thinking that neither of my MR2's have ever idled that high even in the middle of winter when first started. It's probably nothing though, just odd.
Use it as a bargaining tool, make more of the issue and complain about cost of garage fees to get a bit off the price.
Even if it does need a new sensor it's not exactly a deal breaking issue.
Yeah that is a bit high for cold idle. My NA used to start up at 1400ish in winter. But as said it's probably something simple like temp sensor or dirty iscv.
Can't believe how much decent NA's are up for now, my first Rev 3 was mint and sold for £1700.
They do idle high on cold start on a particularly cold day, both of mine have seen idles that high when it's been very cold. As long as it warms up fine and is otherwise fine then it's not an issue.
