Welding

Post by spikkey »

Looking to do some welding on my Mr2 sills
Is it normal to empty the fuel tank first prior to starting any welding work?
Cheers

Not really necessary if you're not welding near the tank, but generally worth disconnecting the battery :thumleft:

There's that much fumes in the tank that it's just as dangerous empty. As above, if you're welding in close proximity to the tank then remove it. If not don't worry. :thumleft:

if your doing the sill your not going to be near the tank, if your having to redo the entire rear passenger section then you may get close to the fuel filter but it's not likely as to be that rotten you'd be looking to reshell the car not repair
