Anyone used anyone other than Zircotec for ceramic coating?

Post by C35Rob »

as per the title really... I want an exhaust manifold ceramic coated but zircotec's prices are eye-watering

there's a few other places advertising their services, such as

http://www.camcoat.com/

http://www.performance1coatings.com/

http://www.extremetemperaturecoatings.co.uk/

but I'd rather go on a good recommendation than just take the plunge

I know Paul well, and Zircotec did a great job on his RS1600i manifold.
Expensive, as you say, but he says it was well worth it.

any idea what he paid? from what I've seen online it looks like they charge around £400 for a compact 4cyl tubular manifold which is more than I can justify tbh... £400 buys a whole load of exhaust wrap

I can't remember exactly, Rob. Want me to ask?
It was definitely a good few hundred, though!

As at June 2014 Zircotec's prices for their Performance Colour range:

Manifold (Full Race) - £275.00
Turbo housing unit (turbine housing) - £157.00

Expensive, but not seen anyone else using their plasma blasting technology :thumleft:

that's not as bad as I thought TBH.. It does seem like the 'competition' are using something more like a high temp powdercoat.. I'll mull it over, I'm trying to avoid letting this thing grow arms and legs and turn its self into a £20k white elephant!

Just go for it, it's only expensive on the day you buy it :thumleft:
