ok here goes:

2 pics of the amp under the front bonnet. I've mounted it to some MDF, but haven't finished off securing it in position yet - a case of function over form until I get some spare time.

And here's 2 of my 10" sub behind passenger seat. I'd prefer to mount it behind my seat, but this position blocks the engine hatch lever... :(

I made the box myself from some MDF and plans from this site, but it does mean the passenger seat has to be vertical if slid back at all, so a slimmer design would have been better. In hindsight I'd make the top surface narrower, but the 0.75cu feet volume is perfect for my sealed sub ( a 12" sub would need 1cu ft volume if sealed). Ported, my 10" sub would need 1.25 cu ft, so not an option.

For wiring it all in, there's a big bung in the firewall next to the clutch pedal. I've routed all the wires through this, as I couldn't find a decent alternative that's as easy to access from both cabin or front bonnet area.

Mine is as follows:

Amp Rack

Sub

Image

12" Kenwood sub which is neatly behind passenger seat allowing the seat to recline back ok. Sealed unit. nice sound. And the amp is 4 channel pheonix gold Tantrum series, 2 channels bridged to run the sub and the other 2 running my front components which have their own Xover in the doors, Mac Audios.

No wires showing, and the Headunit is a 60W 4V Alpine 3 outs.

got mine amp, sub and connectors from www.caraudiodirect.com

pretty cheap, a good range and next day delivery.

I made the box myself (you can tell from the poor quality), but I used the sub design posted above from a sheet of MDF that cost a tenner.

ps the volumes I stated of 0.75cu ft and 1.0cu ft were for my JBL GT series sub - others may well be less or more.

The MDF that the Amps are screwed to are resting on the top of the spare wheel, all the distribution boxes are screwed on the under side of it ..

The whole lot hinged forward so I could still get the spare wheel.

Nah - there are one or two. They just never post any pictures! Give it another five years and we'll all forget about what a standard MR2 looks like...
:)

Cbaynes - what did you stick your front number plate on with? Any problems from the law?
Mk2 NA Rev1 -*- Mk2 Turbo Rev2 -*- Mk1 NA -*- Mk2 Turbo Rev 3 = all gone!

Double sided Sticky pads, you can buy them off the service desk at halfords, about £1.99 if memory serves.

Never got pulled for them

I mounted my amp in the passenger-side floor.

Tried to upload a pic but the image is too large.
