So after my drive back from work this morning I stopped at Shell to stick some 99ron in the motor.

As the engine was warm I thought I'd reset the ECU at the same time as I hadn't done it since I owned the car, and who knows what octane the dude was running.

I also put in some BGK44 fuel system cleaner, as people have claimed this can actually cleans the injectors, unlike other brands.

.

First thing I notice after the ECU reset my idle dropped to about 500rpms.

I expected this as I've just reset the ECU at this point so I'm sure there's some side effects.

Shortly after it sorts itself out my idling is near perfect, far more perfect than it was before! My car would idle at between 500-750, and if I hadn't idled after a cold startup into a fully warm engine, upon idle the car would start at over 1000 and then eventually drop.

This could happen multiple times.

The end result however always being between 500-750.

So now after the reset my idle is, as mentioned, perfect! Car seems to boost a little better and quicker too, however at this point I'm sure I'm just making it up.

The ECU reset consisted of the following:

Pulled out all EFI fuses in the engine bay and the ECU fuse.

Filled up with petrol whilst it reset

Pumped the brakes 3 times

(4 just for luck) then went in and paid, and came out and started the car.
