.. Its a fuel cut defencer (some say defender) it allows the operator to turn boost up without hitting fuel cut .. it may also alow tuning of air/fuel ratios too but im not holding my breath .., i wonder how high they whacked up boost

It looks like during the dyno set up there are lots of references to NOT touching the bleed valve which I guess is the Manual boost controller.

As Jon has said, replace the knock sensor first, but not an Ebay one, get one from Toyota.
The wastgate will be ok, forget about a boost controller and get the engine running as Toyota designed it first to make sure you do not have other problems like damaged pistons.
You do need the top grade of fuel also, and your timing should be set to 8 deg btdc

The guy there was a legend and fixed the overboosting quickly. Unfortunately he also discovered an exhaust leak that due to the bodykit was impossible to fix without dropping the engine. He couldn't do it because he didn't have the right ramps to deal with the bodykit. £1700 
dropped the engine, replaced all gaskets, belts, pipes and tubes and put it back together again. It acted as a brake and essentially made me turn left from the fast lane of the M5. luckily I didn't hit anyone and the only damage is the ripped up wheelarch liner, which I will look for on another post. I think it was an oversight from the garage after all the work i have had done.Modena-360 wrote:
