Clutch master cylinder Fubar'd?

Post by parker455 »

Hi folks,

went to bleed my clutch today after it's been sitting with the engine out of it for 6 months and to say the master cylinder isn't working is an understatement.. there's absolutely no push in it at all even when the slave bleed nipple is done up.

I've run fluid through the line and still nothing, it just goes straight to the floor with no resistance/fluid resistance whatsoever.

The fluid is black and murky, do we think the rubber seal inside has perished? It used to work and work very well!

Thanks in advance,

When I replaced the slave it took ages to bleed the clutch to a point where the pedal would return. Two man bleed was the only way.
