Right I can do the first two steps easy!

3rd step I can drive it before putting this in right?

And step 4 I'll stick that to 10

And then I can do the a and b part

What do I up as I increase the cars power?

And what settings are all these things that I cycle through when I press the second - bottom- button, like SPD- FUN- CYCL ... What do these all need to be set to? :') I don't know if the person before set it up properly but it should be but I want to know if it's all done so by resetting it I can do it all properly :)

Maybe you are right maybe not Jim but it's still going to cost to get it back on the road probably was an element of bad luck all I was trying to say to the op was listen to people and I don't really need you telling me what it cost because you don't know me or my personal circumstances, I was just trying to let the op know there is a lot of people on here worth listening to. Reading some of your posts I'd put you in that bracket.
My wife hates my mid life crisis car and would love me to get rid of it for the record ( not happening). So that's the cost is lots of earache.

i apologize, i didnt mean to sound blunt. having come from paying alot of money on a forged build and that went wrong more than once (not on the mr2), i was kinda just saying it could have been worse is all.
earache from the other half you cant put a price on, :(

Once you have done the intial set up .. you just need to set up a. low boost and b.high boost ... depending on how much boost you run , this will affect performance .. I ran 0.9bar for the most when i had my rev1 .. increased to 1.1 bar with a ct20b and other mods.

Just done steps one and two on my lunch :) it's now just flashing 0.0 in the top right hand corner and I guess it will still be like that when I go home and then I'll put in the figure it stays at there yeah? It originally says 6.8 there but I'll do this from scratch

That just tells you your peak boost level .. see what is says when you get home and adjust if needed for step 3.

Hope thats right 8-[

So the figure flashing in the top right is what I get from doing the gear 3 run? Or is that something else. Where do I put that figure?

Lol I know where your coming from I'm just a little bit pee'd off at the moment even though I knew the risks, tbh in some ways it makes it easier to justify the spend on a forged build.

:thumleft:

To the op I think there is a hybrid turbo for sale at the moment unless it has already gone. As Jim pointed out its not just about boost pressure as you go higher boost on a ct26 you will be getting a lot of hot air which is not good for a number of reasons. A better turbo on the same level of boost is going to give you more power as colder air is denser.

Im just reading the manual because i cant remember for sure .. i think after you have done a 3rd gear pull i should flash say 6.8 .. if when you were watching the boost gauge it went straight to 6.8 psi and stayed there through the rev range hit ok (pressing the volume knob) if it holds at 5psi and creeps at the last minute or spikes to 6.8psi turn it down to 5psi using the volume knob and confirm by pressing it.

Oh right I inderstand so that number in the top right should say whatever the third gear pull says :) let me know if it's any different :)

And yeah I'm look at the cut26 hybrid at the moment :)

Once I have the new cone filter with heat shield on, the fuel cut defender and the exhaust system what boost can i safely run? And then what can I safely run after the intercooler is done aswell :)

10/11 psi should i hope be fine .. soon as you have done the mods above 14/15psi .. head gaskets the problem , i ran 0.8 bar low ,1.0/1.1bar high with 1.2bar scramble for years no problem (near the end with water/meth) head gasket is a real unknown could take 1.1bar for years or pop first time out its the risk we all take .

I would run 0.7bar low 0.9bar high see how you get on (with all mods you listed , larger intercooler very important) maybe push it up to 1.0bar if its running nice , remember theres no garanties.

Think so mate .. remember dont just click ok if it wasnt the most stable boost reading you saw , thats what you need to enter in :thumleft:

Ok I'll put the figure in a see and then set up modes a and b and then leave it until the mods are done and I shall be doing the gaskets soon :) I can do the rocker one myself easy... It's the head one im worried about- have you attempted it? And is there a easy way of doing it? Because I want the metal gaskets on there and only replacing them too as they are needed :)

I've heard its a pain to get to the head gasket!! And niceee! I look forward to that ;) I fancy the hybrid turbo ct26

Is the ecu needed at all? :/ is it costly?

Do you plan on doing the head gasket yourself? You don't know if the previous owner fitted a metal head gasket?

You won't need an ecu just yet. Save that for when you get a bigger turbo and injectors. I don't know if it has already been mentioned but keep the stock bov seeing as you have an afm. I don't want to over load you with info but it was something I had to sort out on mine when I first bought it.

It's fine man you're really helpful :) well I can try can't i? I need to keep costs down! :') but I can look for receipts but the rocker is still normal so might still be like that :( ok so no ecu yet - and I have a Bov on my car alright it runs fine - can I keep it? Lol doing the third gear pulls now :)

If your only looking for 280 ish bhp a mines/blitz ecu is a good buy , they dont loose money (£250/300) and you get remapped boost maps to 1.2bar , no fuel cut, no speed cut and more aggressive ignition timing :D .. had both there great for a plug in and play unit.

But like poker face said , baby steps mate . air filter, exhaust including decat downpipe and intercooler first :thumleft:

Doing the third gear pull it just keeps rising :') slowly going up from the 5-6.3 range :') I'll keep going but not definite constant boost yet
