Like a lot of things, its dead easy when you know how, and in this case definitely not easy if you don't know how and follow a guide.
You are not doing the cam belt, you are only setting the cam timing

Check notches on cams line up the ones on the bearing caps on the head.
If they do, Rebuilld it.If not then you start doing what your doing now
