Inspiration required.

Post by tedweirdo »

Hi everyone. 2015 could be the year to resurrect my toy. It is a 1994 Rev 3 turbo tintop. I have owned it since it drove off the boat in 2003. It has covered 50k due to a busy life and other interesting toys. I'm ashamed to say it hasn't been out of my garage since 2011. I am maybe feeling the itch to run it again this year. It had 43k on when I bought it. That probably tells it's lack of use. Not a lack of love though, used for my wedding car in 2009. It is a dry weather/no weather! only car. I cleaned the car and waxoyled and sealed it when I got it. That included box sections and seams etc. It still looks like brand new underneath and outside. Spent forever building it!

Bit of spec.
Blit Nur Spec, Cusco Zero 2, 3 way coil overs, Volk Racing Emu staggered rims, Hayward and Scott decat, Berk Technology intercooler, fully repainted at Audi body shop in panther black. The 202 black was too faded for me! No body mods apart from darker lenses. All the bits were bought new barring the intercooler which came from a forum member.

Question is, do I put it back on the road this year?.....

Also, it will be going on Toyo R888's if it comes out. Does anybody recommend them for MR2?

Asking the mr2 community if you should put your 'very low mileage rev3 turbo with jdm goodies' back on the road...........

I think this will only go one way!

My interest is revived. It's going back on the road. Acquired a Cobra Suzuka Pro fit bucket seat for it today. Very necessary!

Considering you have owned it its whole UK life, and kept in in great condition from the sounds of it.. no brainer, keep it and get it out!

If you moved to another car you would very seldom be able to have the same confidence in its condition.

Have fun :D

Very True.

I hear that! When I built it I was keen and less jaded by the motor industry/life! These days I have limited spare time and always something else takes priority.

However.....the sun is shining today and i'm at home. Think it's time to get the car out!

It lives!

Fired up first turn of the key. Last time it was on the road was August 2012. It has done 700 miles since May 2009. I have every fuel receipt from it's first tank of old school Optimax(pre V power) Never had a drop of anything other than Shell!

I need to get out more clearly!

Berk cooler.

Post by tedweirdo »

Hi Dan.

I have been emailing them to people so far. It looked kind of amazing when I got it out from it's slumber yesterday. I'm itching to show it off!

The Berk cooler is very smart. It's very discreet and side mount. It's only when your eye catches it that you notice anything is different.
