Alloy change - need help!

Post by Sammie86 »

Hi guys,

I have a 1990 imported Mk2 MR2 T-bar 2.0 non turbo. Atm she's got standard alloys but I've got the chance to have some 18" Calibers. I was just wondering if they would be a straight swap or am I venturing into spacer territory etc?

Thanks in advance

As a word of warning, 18" wheels are probably the worst size of wheel to fit in terms of ride quality and comfort.

The potential new alloys have brand new tyres on with 215/40ZR18 on them. Does this help any? [/img]

Nope.

The tyres need to be staggered on the MR2.

i.e 215/40/18 front, 225/40/18 rear

You need the widths of the wheels, i.e 8x18

You also need the offset of the wheels, i.e ET38

i have 17inch on front and 18 on back and the front would take no bigger than 17 inch unless you have coilovers as it hits the shock so i would make sure to try on front first :D
