Alarm advice

Post by PHIL666 »

Well it appears that my alarm has packed up! If the paperwork supplied with the car is to be believed it was a CAT1 Falcon security alarm.......however on inspection today it would appear that it was installed in a less than professional manner. Probably by a complete chimp! My alarm does not need to be CAT1 for my insurance as my current policy is without CAT1 (just as well really)

So do i try and get this alarm repaired, or do i cut my loses and get a brand spanking new one.

I have looked briefly on the internet and found some clever pager thingys, which have alsorts of clever functions.......does anyone have any experience of these? Are they as crap as i suspect they are?

I have always stuck to Clifford or Toad in the past, is there anything out there which rivals them?

My tubby has a Toad alarm on it, and it's utter crap. If it's been raining or even a bit damp, the remote locking ceases to work and the alarm goes off at random intervals. I've had a Toad engineer come up to sunny Leicester from London to report on it (I had to pay for this) and give it the once over, and even he admitted that Clifford alarms were better...

The next upgrade I'll get will definately be another Clifford alarm system, even with the tempation of a charge cooler hanging in the balance! :)
Mk2 NA Rev1 -*- Mk2 Turbo Rev2 -*- Mk1 NA -*- Mk2 Turbo Rev 3 = all gone!
