Ok I shall try this thank you man put if it's still starting that does mean the spark plugs are fine right?
not necessarily no - i had a set that displayed the same symptoms as yours after i had kept running the car at idle in the garage . not saying this will solve your issue but it sounds spookily like the symptoms i had from running iridiums.

But I just had a full service carried out on the car and these were changed and the oil was drained a lot with the rocker tightened and yet it still has the same problem
My fresh new engine came back with 4x new plugs.
Massive starting issues not running on all 4. Turns out 2 brand new plugs were duds from factory. It can happen

Once she's started she is running on all 4 though :/
How fresh are you ignition compoents.
Rotor
Dizzy
Leads
Amplifyier
Coil .
Next any fault codes.
And a thought if struggling and stinking of fuel maybe green ECU temp sensor failing/failed so constantly overfueling thinkibg engine cold ??

Rotor dizzy and leads are all brand new! She's starting first time at the moment but as she cranks if I gove her some throttle she's fires up instantly..... If that helps with working it out if I don't use the throttle first off she just cranks and cranks and takes ages to start even with the throttle down
Personally would
1. Error code paperclip check for fault codes
2. Get a £10 emmission test done to rule out 02
3. Unbolt and inspect coil for cracks damage and water ingress
4. Cry
5. Throw a pi$$y
If it's starting with throttle then your overfueling at startup as the throttle is introducing more air which means your ignition system is probably ok
It should start and run with a dead o2 sensor as until warm it will be running open loop without the o2. As said check the afm and the ecu temp sensor, you need to get yourself a multimeter and get your hands dirty the basic checks take less than an hour

The coil is fine... Haven't looked at the AFM so might have to do that and I don't even know what a O2 sensor is :') but when she starts and I give her a little she's fine from then on! To check the AFM do I just remove it and see if it's got cracks or anything?
With the afm removed look inside it you'll see a metal flap push it open and make sure it fully closes freely. There's also some resistance checks you can do with a multimeter but you'd have to refer to the big green book for details

Alright and the AFM is found just by my come right? Sorry I'm new to this stuff :') and I don't have one of them or the green book lol
