Hi mate,
Try the ignition trick, turn ignition from off to on (without starting car) 20-30 times quickly and see what happens.
This usually works as the relays stick and doing this seems to unstick the contacts.
The PAS fluid res is under the front bonnet, you will need to remove the spare wheel and plastic cover to get to it.

HTH Cheers.

Sounds like a sticky relay to me... try the above, if no joy we have a couple in stock,

pwr steering

Pwr steering fluid reservoir is behind the spare wheel. Remove the wheel and you'll see it middle/passenger side of bulkhead. There'll be a dipstick connected to cap for you to check oil level

Try the ignition relay method as mentioned on previous post.
If it is the relay causing your problem, the PWR steering warning lamp in dash will come on.

If everything above does not solve then do the following...

Bonnet up and start the car ... no need to touch steering at mo

Listen for the PWR steering pump coming on. This should happen automatically without the need to move steering.

Should last 1.30secs (fast for 1min/slower 30secs) then the pump will stop.

Turn the steering and the pump should come on again.

If the pump does not come on again, let me know and I'll post you a follow up to find the fault.

If you pump switches off after its been in use , it becasue the speedo is not sending the correct imput to the ECU, when the ecu gets the wrong or weak electronic signal (or a loose cable drivin connection) the ump will switch off.

If you stop the engien and start the car again the pump will be working again and then switch off as its not getting a speed signal.

if it was the sticky relay the pump would not even switch on when you start the car.

Agree with Hellboy on the relay.. the intial start up of the PWR steering pump is the PWR steering ECU's self diagnostic... if it was the relay, this would show up straight away.

Steering sensor sits behind the steering wheel (behind the boss if you have aftermarket steering wheel.) Remove the steering wheel (and boss, where appl..) and you"ll see it sitting "6 oclock" with 2 screws.

Don"t bother with this yet as you should try the easier option first by unplugging the wiring to the PWR steering ECU and checking for breaks or water in the connections. Once this has checked out then go and check out the steering sensor...save this of another post
