What are the correct tyre sizes for 17"?

Post by Odin_S »

Going to be putting my Equips on soon, at the moment i have

Front 215/35/17
Back 235/40/17

These came with the wheel when i bought the equips
I'm thinking 35 profile is quite low..

215/40's would be better on the front.

You could go up to 245 or even 255 / 40 on the back if they are 9J wide.

I went 215/40/17 front and 245/35/17 rear you need coilovers and arch shaving to get the rear to sit right, see my pics.

245/40/17 and 255/40/17 will fit with arch mods :thumleft: on a 35 offset wheel .

Ps. 215/40/17 front and 235/40/17 rear, are what most run on 17's , 35 is not ideal for the front .

Holly cow  that looks super :thumleft: . why change it :-k

215/40/17 for shore on the front , You just need to work out how much Tyre you want on the rear .

Another ps.. What width are the 17's plus offsets .

Just, always wanted Equips, I'll be keeping my Enkei too. I got the equips 2 years ago, and have been sat in my garage until this summer. Now they have been refurbed i'd like to see how it goes.

What brand are your 245/35/17s?
I've been searching everywhere for a lower profile solution for my car.

Thanks for that - I've been searching the Tovo main Japanese website (Toyotyres.com) thinking they would have the full range. On that site they don't list ANY T1Rs for 17" or 18' rims!
I just checked my local (Thai) site & lo & behold, T1Rs and R1Rs both in 245/35 x 17 sizes.

Nice :thumleft: one of my favorite set of wheels :D .. 215/40/17 front .. 235/40/17 rear .. I think would be a great place to start tyre wise :thumleft:

Could maybe go wider on the rear 8-[ I will leave that to someone running 8jj rears to chime in.

those 16 inch enkei rims are the best looking and best handling you can get . 17 is a step backwards . but if you want a change the tyres should be 40s in my opinion.

Yea, i love the Enkei that's why they are staying, i had them for the past 6 years on the car. These are just another set of wheels, maybe my summer wheels.

Spent alot refurbing them and changing them to my style. Even the center caps had a colour makeover. Not 100% the centres maybe 80% happy with them but its ongoing.
