I always did wonder... What if you open the boot? Keys out every time?

Yep, or flick the radio off. Bit of a pain in the ar$e but you get used to it.
Just don't forget and try to open the boot  my aerial needs a 'gentle' shove every time it goes down now

I have mine on a switch so the aerial is only up when I'm listening to the radio. I keep seeing pics of rev 5 spoilers everywhere and now I'm n ot sure what I want.

Hi mate

When you attached your Toms rear bumper, did you put in the polystyrene impact slab??

Ive tried to install mine with the polystyrene but couldnt do it, even when I shaved loads off, it just wouldnt "sit right" :-k

I had to fit the bumper without the polystyrene. I wasnt sure if that would be an issue or whether I need to buy another polystyrene one again and persist and shave it down till it fitted ok! lol

I suppose it might be an issue if someone hit it? Aftermarket bumpers tend to explode where the regular stock bumper bends more nicely... I never did do the rear bumper, so no experience of trying to make the foam fit. I suppose it probably is worth it, though.

Mines just resting on. Never tried the polystyrene in as it fell off and needs to be taped back on.
thinking about it though I guess mine wouldn't fit either. The bumper was a really tight fit. Only would go on one way and had to be exact. Seems to fit ok and thats without any of the mounting screws bolts etc.

Not much done this weekend. Goodbye polish traps. Drilled a couple of snapped bolts out. Dads car failed its MOT so spent a good few hours on that instead this week.
ready to take stuff to the painters this week now though. Hopefully he wont be too busy.

Not much done recently. Parts been at the painters for a few weeks. Haven't heard from him so will have to pop along. I've got plenty to keep me busy but something always needs attention elsewhere.
Aircon rad removed and pipework and the covers off to allow the running of the charge coer pipes. Thought I'd have a bit more space under there for them tbh. Meant to take a pic of where I planned to run the pipes at front. I've noticed most have 90 degree bends and run the pipes underneath. It looks like with a bit of fiddling I can take the pipes straight out the sides and behind the foglights but I'd have to cut a hole out.
bumper bar still needs a rub down and paint but happy with the underneath being so clean. Not one bolt underneath snapped either.

Just back from Ibiza so used more time that was meant to be spent on the car sunning and boozing instead.

got parts back from painters. Still need cutting and polishing. Think the final colour match is ok but looks weird in pics due to reflections and different levels of dirt on panels.

Also got the back lights panels and bumper on but didnt get pics while still light.
quite happy with the outcome and yellow fogs. Unintentionally and probably a bit subconsciously I'm building the car now that I wanted 16 years ago. Thankfully I'd like to think I've always had taste or it could have some gash corsa combat kit on it lol.
I never meant it to be apart this long so its taking time remembering which bits are which and some bits a mate removed but hasn't been there for the refit of certain parts so enjoyed the lets figure out how this works game.

Car is looking pretty fresh mate, nice work. :thumleft:

I have a Bomex front bumper fitted at the moment.

I've also got a stock front bumper with no lip. Tempted to have it painted and source a similar lip to what you have.

hmmmm, one for the future possibly. :-k

I really like the look of the stock bumper and aftermarket splitter like. Means you still get a nice shut line across the bonnet aswell. My border fronted one annoyed me across that part.

Been recommended linseed oil from a mate for refreshing tired plastics. Used it tonight and wow its pretty good compared to all the stuff I've bought from proper detailing places. Its a bit greasy but once its dried its fine and if my mates stuff are to go by it lasts a long time. Like measured in years not days.

Pic's aren't in the right order but cant swap them about on my phone the screen just jumps about.

I like how your garage roof looks a little like a jap flag effect on one of your pics
