[Mk2] [Generic] Coilover Spring Rates

Post by dubsport01 »

Looking a bit of advice about coilover spring rates, I am in the market for set at the minute. I am currently looking at hsd dualtechs based on price, I dont track it and want it lower than i can achieve with springs and shocks.

The spring rates on the hsds are 6kg/mm front and 10kg/mm rear
I also looked at bc's which come with either 4/6kgmm or 5/8kg/mm

Going lower I know my car will be stiffer but I don't want it to be like a block of wood. Will the spring rate make a difference how the car feels on a bumpy road or is that more controlled by the damper?

I don't mind putting up the extra shillings for the bc's if they going to be softer daily driving. At the same time I don't want it to steer like a submarine on the back roads.

Any input would be appreciated?
