Firstly I've replaced my Rev5 Steering Wheel with a MK3 one
(my choice to lose the ageing airbag). What I didn't want to lose was the red stitch effect. So I googled a DIY way of doing it and here's the finished article:
I then decided I needed a boost gauge
(my car being a Turbo conversion in a UK car didn't have one). I prefer the oem look so decided to fit a 45mm Prosport Boost a Gauge in place of the voltmeter. It was amber and a bit bright at night so I used some of the red film left over from doing my dash and clock to slightly tone it down. Now matches my stereo and clock.
The Red Stitching was fairly easy and inexpensive to do
(under £6.50). You actually leave the original stitching in place and just follow it with the red over the top. Gives a good effect.I loosely followed this guide:

Slightly thicker pre-waxed linen thread would have been ideal if you can find it.
