Rev2 GT Turbo , Break or not to Break

Thinking of selling my 93 Rev2 GT Turbo Tin Top that has some modifications.
I haven't used the car since 2007 and could do with the space in the garage.

I've been out of the MR2 world for a long time so the question is , is the car worth more in bits or complete ?
It would be a shame to break it because its not a heap.

If you have the time, the space, patience and the motivation, then fair do's, go ahead.

Personally, Id put it up for sale "as is", with the option to return it back to stock, to enable it to be affordable. Then sell the mods

Generally, anything without an MOT will be worth more as bits. But you'll be left with a pile of bits no-one wants, too, and don't under-estimate the sheer pain and effort involved in breaking a car, writing the adverts, wrapping the parcels up, etc.

I guess it depends if the extra money you get is worth your time really.

I personally wouldn't even be tempted to break a car unless it was a huge build with lists of parts, it seems like a mission!

Id just try and revert to stock as much as possible if I were you and unwire any aftermarket electronics you have. Maybe even pick up a set of stock wheels with tyres and sell the Rotas.

From the photos it looks a clean example and im sure someone would enjoy it, let her live on!!

I guess if you have the time and the space you'd end up making more money for sure, but i bet that the good parts go 1st and then you'll end up with 92% (figure pulled square outta my &%$) of a car sitting somewhere you don't want it.

I guess I should start up some hippy 'Save the SW' sentiment, but if the car is relatively rust free why not try to sell it first and let someone else enjoy it?

But i'd still pull the fancy bits off it and replace them with stock and sell the goodies.

its worth more money complete than breaking if its got mot and the engine runs. the price for mr2s had hit rock bottom but its started to rise as the cars are getting rarer and people have more money

I've had the car 14 years and love it but cant really justify keeping it now and need the space.
Passed my bike test and got hooked so stopped driving cars completely. ( got 6 bikes )
I've kept the MR2 running and and moving ( got a really big garden) so it hasn't just been rotting since 2007.

I bought it from a Toyota main dealer in 2000 with 12000 miles on it and it has 67000 on it now. Still have the sales invoice.

Thing is if I mot it I'll want to keep it and that will upset her indoors

Unless you really really need the space I'd just keep the car if it's a good one.

Getting hard to find decent examples now so you'll get more money as they get even rarer.
