JamesC, I am feeling optimistic that my car will be ready for Sunday. The Darlo lot are on about us meeting at Scotch Corner, either the services or that big hotel on the roundabout at around 9:30am. Now I have your mobile number so I can phone you say 5am to give you pleanty of time to put your face pack on and beautify yourself before meeting up with me at say 8:50am at Washington Services. Make sure you fill up with Optimax on Saturday cause you wont be able to get to Whitemare Pool Shell garage on Sunday morning. How does that sound, or should I make it 4am for the phone call to give you that extra hour to do your hair?

   9:30!!!!!!!

If we're not meeting till 1pm why is everyone going so early? According to autoroute it only takes 1h10mins from scotch corner to windemere!

So according to my calculations that makes a 11:30 departure from scotch corner fine.

i hate early hang-over mornings! ](*,)

Not many parking areas in Windermere that I know of. But there's a fairly big car park in Bowness-On-Windermere.
(the 'P' at the bottom of this map, the 'P' further up is on street parking)
http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi? ... imap.y=218

If you scroll up on the map then there's another 'P' closer to Windermere, but I'm not familiar with this one.

I get the feeling it'll be quite busy this weekend, the wife and I had terrible trouble getting somewhere booked to stay

Autoroute may say 1hr 10mins, google maps quotes 2hr 22mins, which I think is probably more realistic. Also, the A66 will be packed if its a nice day, also gives us the opportunity to take a steady run and enjoy the drive as opposed to thrashing it all the way :-)

And more importantly, gives us chance to stop off and grab some breakfast :-)

So....How about the Northeast lot meet at sat 10:15 Scotch Corner Hotel ???

I know a few of the guys are meeting at my house, so we will drive down and meet up with the Geordie lads.

My cars got a dire fuel consumption problem and I haven't got time to fix it

Is anyone needing a passenger who will be going past Junction 28 on the M1?

Obviously not then! Will anyone object if I bring a different car? Simply haven't got time to sort out the SC. I can sit at the back or on the front, is this ok?

Exellent, we now have 2-3 bbq's. Anyone else?? :D Also just thinking ahead, if its raining (which I hope it dont) I was thinking of nicking my mates gazebo which would be great to sheild any rain from the food, also would be enough room to stand underneath it. Not too sure if it will fit in my boot but I will try and grab it if poss.

I've got a BBQ but it's a bit too big for the boot, so I'll try to get some meat n buns.

Weather forecast is good for the Lakes on Sunday. I will pick up a couple of disposable BBQ's. Probably best if everyone takes their own food, although I am sure there will be some spare of ours. I will probably have a boot full of tools also due to the replacement of my turbo, just to be on the safe side. Try and checkout garages for Optimax, although I dont think the protests have made that much of an impact up North.
