Mine had a bad spray in a previous life as I mentioned earlier. Trust me, you want everything off the shell and sprayed properly. My car looks fine from a distance but up close the laquer lines and drips are consistent along every panel/strip.

Forgive my ignorance but is a 'refresh' where the laquer is rubbed back to the underlying layer of 'decent' paint and then it's polished up and re-applied?

Mine looks more like a fresh coat was sprayed over the top, lol. I'll be sorting that out once I'm finally happy with everything else.

I lived up North for three years and f***ing hell it's cheaper than the south east by a long shot!!!

Also, many places hate working on old motors and charge way more as a result. I can imagine this is similar when it comes to re-spraying. Who wants to work around cracked weather stripping and rusted on trim screws etc? Unless they're a classic restorer.
