ICE required

Post by tazza »

Right I have already have my Pioneer DEHP77MP fitted just need to sort out some components, 4 channel amp and maybe a sub :P

If anyone has some 5 1/2" components for sale let me know or see any anywhere for sale let me know same about the 4 channel amp Very Happy

Has anyone made any sub boxes that fit behind the seats that are for sale?

I wouldn't mind a 10" sub behind my back :D

many peopl have made sub boxes, many dont allow you to recline your seat! I designed this one to allow you to, remove the cubby box behind the seat and it drops straight in, solid, pm me your email if you want plans on how to build! Or can build you some too collect if you want to make me an offer!

Nice, I've been looking at fitting the sub into the stock cubby box enclosure, as it makes use of the low down wasted space (which helps reduce the height and visibility from the road) and also provides some support for the sub box too.

I was also thinking of making a curved back panel to fit the curve of the bulkhead, as a straight back on the box will leave a gap between the box and the bulkhead. I was going to use several layers of thin plywood, bend them to fit some contoured side pieces and glue them on top of each other to build up strength/thickness to the same as the MDF.

Any idea what the volume of your box is? I need 14 litres for my sub...

Do people clamp their boxes into the car, or are they just resting? I'd have thought for best sound, if you can bolt/clamp the box to the bulkhead, you're increasing the mass of the box significantly, and less of the speaker energy will be wasted by moving the box, rather than the cone??

Cheers,
Jon

This one jsut rests in the hole created by removing the std cubby hole box, it does not need support in my eyes as it is a tight fit!

The straight back is not a problem in the mk2 as it only curves at the top, though i would say that if you are going to go for curves i would make a fibreglasss back, this way you would get a perfect fit, then use mdf for the front! my box is 0.75 cubit feet, not sure what that is in litres but about right for most 10 inches!

good luck!

Neil
