I'll bet no-one here has ever considered it.

They should fit. 8" is fairly wide though plenty of MX5 owners seem to run these with 195's with a fair bit of stretch. Ditto AE86 owners who may run an even wider rim. You could run 205's but really you're starting to over tyre the car if you go anymore than that.

As for the offset, well it will put the wheels out in the arches a fair bit more.

Nobody in the UK would dream of this, but you might find examples elsewhere.

Have seen some mr2 with 15x8 et15 and they look fine with 195/50 tyres.

What people dream of in uk?

I considered it for the Buddyclub alloys I was looking at, but I didn't fancy stretching my 195s over them.

I wasn't sure how it'd affect the handling either.

It will stiffen the sidewall considerably depending upon how much stretch you have.

I have 8" rims on the GT running 215s. There is a little bit of stretch. I love it tbh, handles just fine and if anything sharpens the steering up. Drifts pretty well too.

I can only summise that such effects would be greater on a 195 but plenty of people do it.
