Where did you get the bolt kit ? Was it from eBay? I liked the inlet manis in black, I fancied having. Mine the same but I'd then need to paint the TRC parts and it will be a pain in the ass

Bolt kit came from Kelsport - they have a web page I think but I purchased the through there eBay store!

Started to mark out the BMIC ready for cutting out, also boot needs painted inside to tidy it up a little bit..







Going to take the exhaust off before cutting the boot floor so it doesn't get damaged. Think I'm going to sell the Phoenix Power Departure exhaust and run a single exit version.

Are you gonna run a scoop underneath to direct air in? If you are your deffo gonna have to lose the departure 2 coz it'll be hindering your scoop airflow

That's why I had to sell both my berk, and HKS hi power silent :/

Looking good! Deffo paint the boot area, I'd use POR15, stone chip and then gloss black

Coz it'll be damp in cold rain conditions in there and that moisture will be sitting there!

I wish I'd done that,so I'm having to remove it all then get it painted

Yup the departure 2 will be going up for sale soon as I get time to remove it, should be this weekend.

Once the car is back on the road it will be going to a friends, he is a whizz with sheet metal work and he will make up the under scoop!

I have a satin black inlet manifold in my shed, it was going to be my colour 'scheme' too, but then decided to leave them silver.

Update: Got the bulk head cut out today and the boot floor! The neighbours would have loved me at 9:45 am cutting this out with the grinder!

Got a decent coat of rust proofing on the floor then a coat of black hammerite, also paint the bulk head satin black and tidy it all up.

Hi All,

So my boot floor is all dry now and I will be lining it with some 15mm neoprene foam for some extra padding and noise reduction.

Then to refit and cut the boot carpet and get that all fitted back in so it looks a bit more OEM – Then test fit the intercooler and drill the holes for the mounting brackets.

Hoping to get this all done on Thursday as I have a day off then I’m away on my mates stag do for the weekend.

Now I have been thinking about the exhaust, Short term plan to leave the departure in place to get the car back on the road from Peter and then I have been speaking with a local exhaust fabricator whom I have used many time over the years on different projects of mine.

The idea is to run a side exit system running through the O/S quarter intake vent – He does some really cool small barrel silencers which will fit in a treat and he uses these on Mitsubishi Evo’s that run a short exhaust out the front bumper.

The side exit will leave the rear end totally free for the under scoop and my pal has a damaged RX7 rear diffuser that I’m tempted with.

Kudos fella, I'm liking the effort you've gone to make the boot more OEM with your BMIC install, that's neat

I'm thinking I may copy you lol, remove all mine, rust proof/treat the boot like you have and retain the boot carpet. What type of neoprene did you use?

I'm even thinking to try and duct the air from the IC and use smaller puller fans to keep the moisture out of the boot, especially if keeping the boot carpet so it doesn't get damp or hold the moisture during damp/wet or colder conditions

The neoprene / foam I used was an old camping mat to be honest - there cheap an do the job being about 12mm thick and easy to cut and shape.

Hi All,

Well I had a free day today so made use of the good weather and removed my Gizzmo boost controller ready for a new dual soleonid one to be fitted! Also the radio and wiring all been ripped out, Decided I don't want a radio and will use the space for new boost display plus extra gauges of course

The car will bring its own music!
