9.5inch rim:
Minimum tyre width recommended: 245mm
Ideal tyre widths: 255mm, 265mm
Maximum tyre width recommended: 275mm.

The Vette has 9.5inch rims on the back as standard with 275mm tyres (Goodyear). It looks totally fine, not 'balloony' or anything. I would say though that those are 275/40/18 runflats so may be less prone to bulging. At any rate, fat tyres is a good look :D

Excuse the poor photo, but you can see the tyre doesn't look to be bulging.

...One further point, because mine are 40/18 and yours would be 35/17, the bulge would be more noticable on your size. This is because the sidewall (35 vs 40) is shorter, so any horizontal bulge would be more noticable.

At any rate, you're never going to get 275s on an MR2. Stick to 245 or 255. I'd still choose 245/35/17 or 255/35/17, whichever you can get your hands on/afford/like more/whatever.

And the two that have been deleted....

Maybe just post one thread and keep it all on one thread Kevin so people don't end up posting the same thing ? :thumleft:
