Suspension options

Post by tezmc »

Hi guys,

What are the recommended suspension kits people generally use on a Mk2? Mine came with Tein coilovers on but the ride is too harsh for and is getting annoying now. I noticed there was a group buy on the Meister R coilovers, are they any good?

I don't mind going for a shocks/springs kit rather than coilovers if that's going to be the best handling. I'm not overly fussed about it being slammed to the ground.

I think I'll also be replacing my 17" Enkei RP01 wheels with the staggered set of 16" R32 Skyline GTR/GTS-T wheels I have sat in my workshop.

Cheers

Would definitely recommend MeisterR's! I went from HSD' MonoPro's to MeisterR's. I did a 3000mile euro trip to Italy and round the Alps and back and they were perfect! I would take you for a spin but it's off the road for winter.

Let me know when you sell your wheels. Really interested!

PM me on Facebook / IMOC if you want anymore details :thumleft:

Despite a few comments to the contrary most user that fitted DC Coilovers were pleased. I really wanted springs and dampers as I don't do track days and I'm an old git  but I bought a set of DCs and they are amazing.

Ride height and spring rates are adjustable independantly but they transformed my 15 year old car dramatically.

I can only speak from experience but I'd recommend DC Coilovers anytime.

MeisterR's!
Designed in the UK for UK roads.

If you have a look at the group buy now, you'll see loads of good comments regarding these :thumleft:

Sorry to hijack but what would a set of tein coilovers be worth if in decent condition?

I've seen them go for about 400 for superstreets. Got them on mine and although it is a harsh ride it handles like it is on rails. :thumleft:
