Finally wired my stereo in. I have to say this was sooo much easier this time around since fitting the ISO plug. It has bluetooth handsfree, radio, CD, MP3, USB connection, IPOD connection, digital TV (though I have not set this up, it does not come with the DTV aerial in the box you have to buy it separately), and sat nav - comes with a UK map smart card so if you were to take it abroad you need to buy the specific sim card with those maps. Also has a remote control which is now thrown in my glovebox, can be set up for reverse cam and a number of other features. Comes with a touchscreen pen but finger touch is fine, I think it would be difficult to use the pen whilst driving!

I have to say, for all the trick stuff this headunit does and for the money it costs it is VERY good! I was looking at Sony and JVC units with similar spec and they are around £800+. So I would say this is quite a bargain.

Oh btw just for the record, remember when I had the battery drain issue and I thought it was my funky stereo wiring `skillz`, turned out it wasnt, it was a drain from the old steering fogs which JDM have since removed for me when it was in for respray.

So, all that`s left is to sort the tints I havn`t attempted them yet.. They have arrived though! Red, I opened the package (they came in a tube rolled up), took a sheet out and it sprung open, was very difficult just to roll it back up without getting fingerprints allover it..lol.. I can see this is going to be fun..

Lets just say, I'm done with DIY window tinting.

Yes mate I hear good reports from people. Had a look on routeplanner, only an hour 20 mins from me, should have a nice run back down the M1 when I fetch it back. :thumleft:

Cheers mate. Yeah I seem to be getting on ok with the touchscreen at the moment, double DIN is deffo a better look than a blanking plate.

Haha, they do! Gotta be careful with stickers and modded cars.. You can soon ruin the look of a car with stickers! It DOES need the sunstrip fitting though, it kept raining so I have not had chance. Still in it`s tube in the glovebox. But that will be the last sticky item added!

Who remembers my nice shiny bonnet then hey???

Image

Thinking it needs a little work again.lol.

Missed a call from Peter yesterday, hopefully I can catch up with him in the week and find out what is happening with my car. But I`m guessing it`s currently this, T-Bar seals, and windscreen rubber seal.

 I'm guessing cutting it back with T cut and polishing it isn't going to cure that Dan.

Hmmm, well if you thought you were a universally popular guy, to save disappointment i suggest you don't call Deepcar Autobodies and introduce youself as "Dave, the guy that owns the MR2 bonnet."

There's so much paint on it, they've been taking it in turns taking it off. Problem being the paint was still wet underneath; that's why it all rippled and reacted on top.

It's now down to the GRP. edges being properly sealed, washer jet holes being filled in etc, and being prepped for it's primer coat.

Rest of the car - screen and seals are out, Carben Fibre engine lid test fitted, and ready for when Dave at DA wants it.

I`m looking forward to seeing that finished and fitted! I love Putting crazy panels and modified bonnets and things on my MR2, it`s keeping it all `veilside silly and fun` but yet `red/black track look subtle` and kind of getting away with it... At least that has always been my idea. So I can have a mental `hoon around` machine with the T-Bar panels out for the 3 dry days a year we get, then garage it for the other 362 days..
