MR2 MK2 Turbo T-Bar Black, Outstanding condition, Low Miles +++ LOTS OF EXTRAS

Here for sale is my much cherished MR2 MK2 Turbo.

This is a cherished car owned by a Toyota enthusiast – I'm only selling this as I will be moving abroad soon - this is my second car and is rarely used. As you can imagine I will be very sad to see it go.

The mileage history that I have is:

The first 106722 (66314miles) were kilometres and then the car was converted to miles.

Now the reading is 119510 this means it has done 119510-106722= 12788 (+66314) = 79,102 miles in total.

As you can see I've done just around 4000 miles since the last service.

I have the import certificate and customs certificate. On the import certificate it states a new cam belt and water pump have been fitted.

Since the car was imported in July 2008 it has had the following spent on it:

12/10/08 - Professionally installed Toad Cat 1 AI606 alarm system - approx £100

16/10/08 - Aux belt tension adjusted - £29.38

22/12/08 - Toyota Sandhurst main dealer service £360.19

28/03/09 - New front brake calliper, new discs and pads £384.38

03/06/09 - Toyota Sandhurst main dealer full service including new handbreak cables (known weakness with these cars) £638.27

02/07/09 - Service and conversion of speedo to MPH. Including compression test £161.39 to check head gasket is ok, results are all perfect:

Cylinder 1 = 185 PSI
Cylinder 2 = 190 PSI
Cylinder 3 = 190 PSI
Cylinder 4 = 180 PSI

03/07/09 - New crystal clear indicator lenses fitted £64.48

04/07/09 - Road Angel Professional Connected - GPS Speed and camera locator £249.95

July 09 - New Momo steering wheel and gear knob fitted £150 (I have original wheel still)

July 09 - 16 inch Alloy wheels (second hand) refurbished and fitted £250 (I have originals still)

August 09 - New radio "Kenwood DNX 5220BT" double din size professionally fitted with the following functions: TV, DVD, CD, DIVX, Radio, Tuner, Bluetooth, Rear Camera, Sat Nav, text messaging, remote control. New Alpine 6x9 speakers fitted in custom made enclosures for the rear storage bins and amplifier fitted. Sounds amazing!! Total cost for the new system was over £1300

September 09 - The drivers seat bolster leather was replaced £120

6/02/10 - New shock absorbers front left and right £284.36

03/02/10 - Service inc gearbox oil change £133.68

02/03/10 - Full laser tracking carried out and new tyre valve fitted £47.00

27/05/10 - Replacement brake calliper fitted £58.75

31/12/11 - New battery with warranty £85

May 12 - Work Emotion CR Kai 17" alloys, balanced and fitted with full laser tracking alignment £600 (I have the previous two sets of wheels and tyres still)

August 12 – Original Toyota MR2 mats - £40

June 13 - Blitz Nur Spec-R performance exhaust + fitting £450 (still have the original)

Total spend on improvements and servicing in the last 4 years is over £5,500

Mechanically the car is completely original as I wanted to keep the car "factory" spec hoping it would last a long time. The engine is completely untouched. The body work is in great condition for a car of this age. I've given this car countless layers of wax (I use Meg’s and Chemical guys) and it is only driven in the dry. It is run only on Tesco 99 RON fuel as per the manufacturer recommendations (Japan has higher octane fuel and it is recommended for this vehicle).

I hope you can see this is an enthusiast’s car which has been maintained 100%. It has been kept under a cover and I've really enjoyed improving the car in my ownership. So many of these MR2s have been thrashed or modified. This car has been well serviced, has had a recent cam belt and water pump, has perfect compression and the emissions are extremely low, therefore it should last a long time. I encourage you to see the car from below as the underfloor/undertrays are original and immaculate.

This is a T bar car whereby the roof panels are removable; they fit nicely into sleeves and sit behind the seats. There are also removable sun shades for the glass sections. The car has had rear fog lights fitted so it is ok for the MOT, and comes with the original JDM yellow ACTIVE front fogs which turn with the steering! This is the top of the range edition of the car and has every extra, including electric folding mirrors and even the original JDM Toyota flare! I have folders full of receipts and history – very rare indeed for an import MR2.

As the car is now 20 years old there are a few "bad" points which are:

1. There is a very very slight oil weap from the cam cover which is not worth fixing unless something else warrants taking the cam cover off

2. The battery light (battery water level) is on as I have fitted a sealed for life battery which doesn't need a level sensor - but I've not worked out how to turn off the warning light.

3. Occasionally the front right spring makes a "squeeking" noise when going over speed bumps - garage have checked and said there is no problem and it's just the spring squeeking.

4. The Work Emotion CR Kai wheels were purchased used (worth £1200 new) and could do with a refurbish due to kerbing. As mentioned there are 2 other sets of alloys with the car.

5. The bodywork is fantastic for a 22 year old car but of course there are minor stone chips and imperfections. Please see the photos, once polished and compounded the finish is incredible.

It has never failed an MOT in either mine or the previous owner’s ownership.

I think these cars are becoming modern day classics as there are fewer and fewer of them. I think they make excellent classic cars as they have bullet proof Toyota mechanics, good corrosion resistance and drive really well. The performance really is breath taking and handling is like the car is on rails. For me, I spent ages researching MR2s on the internet buyers guides and looked at quite a few.

I'm asking a fair price for this car which I think is really good value, I am open to offers also. The following is included in the price (but you don't have to take them):
