[Mk2] [Turbo] 2 brown wires???
I was hoking about in the engine bay and noticed 2 loose brown wires hanging off the side of the O2 sensor connector. Didn't take off insulation tape to see if it was attached to the connector or not. Does anyone have any idea what these are?
My air con doesn't work. Could it be this?

No, it won't be aircon related.
Which revision car do you have? And which side of the loom are the wires hanging off... are the connected to the O2 sensor or the engine wirign loom?
Initial thoughts are that you have a rev1 or rev2 turbo with a rev3+ four-wire sensor fitted, hence the two brown wires(that would normally be the heating element) are left dangling as the earlier cars use a 1-wire sensor.

Il check later. Yeah I've a rev2 turbo. Pulled spark plugs out yesterday with not even 600 miles on them and they were coated in carbon so cars running rich. So trying to get yo bottom of it, or checking if it's normal.
Mods are full decat and exhaust, uprated intercooler, blitz air filter, boost at 1 bar. Is it normal to be running this rich? Can smell the petrol too but put that down to decat.
Air flow meter is good. Thinking it could be O2 sensor. If it was, will I always get a fault code cause there are none at the minute

Brown wires sound like old cat temp sensor wires.
You O2 sensor should have only one wire.
Even de-csatted, your CO emissions should only be around 1%. You shouldn't be able to smell fuel in the exhaust.

Think u might be right. My mate must have snipped the wires when we put the decat in. As above my O2 sensor has a lot of white deposits. Would it be worth replacing at this stage? Prob never been changed although no codes in Ecu. Are part number same for NA and turbo? Do you know part number for rev 2 turbo peter?
