Hi All,

After selling my beloved MR2 Turbo 5 years ago I have recently purchased another one as a bit of a gamble. its a 1995 Rev 3 Turbo.

It has had an engine replacement and been off the road for a number of years. Lucky for me I have a friend who is a mechanic and a former MR2 owner as well. So after a quick look over we know the engine turns over and the turbo is fine, electrics are also all good.

So there were a number of hoses not connected and looks like some missing.

So here is my first question. If I buy a full set of ancillary hoses and a set of coolant hoses will that make a full set? my friend seems to think there may be a metal hose that fits somewhere on the underside of the engine? if so anyone know what its called so I can order one.

I also seem to remember there is a small device that sits on the left rear edge of the engine bay near the fuse box that has one thin hose coming from it, anyone know where that goes to ?

Well I am sure I will try and bleed as much knowledge from you all as this project goes along.

Thanks in advance

Gary

That would be a great help if you could.

Really I need a few pics so I can see where all the hoses go.

if you have any pics from underneath that would sort me out even better.

Also if sometime you fancy a ride into York where my friend lives so he can have a look I would be happy to compensate you in some way.

Thanks again

If you're talking about Samco hose sets, there are 3 for the MR2 turbo. They don't replace everything though.

The aircon idle up VSV is on the rear bulkhead, which has a hose going to it from the inlet manifold and another from the turbo hot pipe.

Then there's the valve on the charcoal canister which is also between the engine and the fusebox but lower down. It has 2 hoses from the top of the throttle body to the valve, and then one from the valve to the canister.

Here's a photo from the OC:
