Heeeeeellp!!

Post by stephenj »

Spent this morning changing the cam cover gasket but when it came to tightening up the cover bolts the middle front one sheared and cracked the whole cover  I didn't even tighten it up fully!

Where's the best place to get a replacement?

oh, BTW I've got a Rev3 Turbo.

I've done exactly the same in the past. Here is more or less the only place you'll get one, and people don't tend to like breaking engines into their component pieces much so it might be a bit of a wait! Maybe contact the affiliates (woodsport, sbits, pacific works etc) to see if they've got any spares sitting around - that's how I got mine.

I take it you weren't following the procedure from the workshop manual - you're meant to go around them in order tightening them a little bit at a time! I know I wasn't following it when I snapped mine off.

Try TCB parts, and Peter Gidden think he is breaking a couple at the moment.
