1996 Mr2 Rev 4 Turbo Hardtop GT White 39000 Miles (Deposit taken)

Post by thedeuce »

Deposit taken subject to viewing on 05/10/2013. If anything changes i will update accordingly.

Car has passed her test today with flying colours 14/09/2013

Well were do i start, i bought her back in may 2010 fro Jap performance UK for £6000 with receipt to prove as well as Japanese documentation showing milage. I fell in love with this car the moment i laid eyes on it. I wanted a hardtop this time and this is by far the best mr2 i have ever owned. In three years i have only driven it 2047 miles!

I bought it, then my partner fell pregnant with our little one 2 months later. It has been garaged all its life, the bodywork does not have a mark and underneath it is like brand new literally. The car had done 59657km before conversion to MPH and now reads 61704.

In the june of 2010 i booked the car into MR2 specialist gts chris in Newcastle where the car had £2338 pound spent on her, with receipt to prove. She had new timing belt, new clutch stage 2 fx200, all new belts, new water pump and thermostat, oil filter and Toyota for life coolant, new front and rear break pads, Berk technology downpipe, New plugs, upgraded greddy intercooler with spal fan kit and new hump, Blitz sus filter, 3 spoke toyota Mr2 roadster steering wheel added which looks better than stock rev 4 one. steering rack joint and new boot. The engine was also compression tested and has a full bill of health. In fact chris was impressed with the compression test results as they were strong. While she was there she also had all the fog light wiring done as to avoid having an aftermarket fog light fitted, as i don't personally like them. Also has stainless door trims spelling mr2, these must have been added in japan.

She has always run stock boost and the only mods that i have added have been to replace the stock inter cooler with the more efficient greddy as well as replace the downpipe with the berk as its the best on the market. All tires are literally brand new with only 1mm of tread been used since they were fitted. She has goodyear eagle F1's fitted to the rear and toyos on the front(£480 with receipt to prove). Shes also received Rota torque front and rota torque drift rear alloy wheels which make this car stunning. I personally think the are the best alloys for the mr2 and cost £720 pound. Around a thousand miles ago these were fitted and are basically brand new not a single mark or blemish. Around the same time she also received brand new BC coilovers which have improved the car immensely. She is also poly bushed all round as well.

Two weeks after this was done i ordered her i new exhaust from rogue motorsport. She is fitted with a mongoose exhaust which cost 350 pound, i sold my old exhaust to howlin mad (sard).

Been a tintop and in white she is pretty rare, however she also has the Toyota recaros which which were an optional extra when the car was new from Toyota. These recaros are really rare and i could have sold these seats 10 times over to members on here and mr2oc. These seats could also be specced for the gt4 as well. Infact im preatty sure there is only two other cars that have them on the forum. Could be wrong though.

She has a alpine head unit with ipod adapter cable running into the glove box, which was fitted by a local specialist. Its last oil change was done at Toyota while i watched the tech guy do it! Good job i watched him to as he was about to put the wrong oil in.

She is currently sorned so will add 12 months mot for buyer as well as 6 months tax .The car has had no expense spared, it breaks my heart to sell her and leave the mr2 community. I'm gutted even writing this out. However i cant keep saying i will drive her next year and the next year comes and i say the same thing. With a 2 year old little boy its just not possible to get the time to use her. I have not added up all the receipts but she owes me a lot more than i will get back. I did it for the love of the car like we all do.

You might want to mention the [potentially] factory fitted recaros ( I believe these were an optional extra - but happy to be told otherwise!), rota torque rims and the stainless door trims. The seats alone will get peeps popping up like meerkats!

Looks a great car. Can't see it being around long. :thumleft:

Just taken deposit subject to viewing on the 05/10/2013 from a member on here. I will update accordingly if anything changes. It has just sunken in that ive sold her :pale:

Missus will not speak to me, you could here a pin drop in here

Will ask the potential new owner to give me first shout if he ever sells it in the future, i will never find one as good as this again.

Really glad its going to a MR2 owners member though, so it will be taken good care of.

Shes provisionally sold for £4400, i took it out now that i have taken a deposit. She gets her mot tomorrow, so will have some time to enjoy her until the 5th of October. Me and the missus are going for a trip to Whitby in her for the last time next week :(

Thanks for the positive comments as well from all members here, makes us feel proud knowing other people appreciate the effort we have gone through to keep her in the best possible shape we could! :thumleft:
