88 Mk1b Spares & Repairs, MOT, Tax, £500

Post by un1eash »

Its time to retire the Mk1, I've had it since 2005 and its never let me down but the rust worm is starting to set in and its now 50 shades of red.

Its Taxed till 31/01/2014 and Mot'd till 14/05/14.

Its classed as a CAT C on the log book.

Mechanically the cars sound, its coming up to 120k miles and had oil changes every year. The engine is strong and the gearbox fine with no 5th gear problems, it had a clutch less then 20k miles ago.

The good bits are it has a shortshift, K&n induction, Janspeed exhaust, poly bushes all round and lowered 30mm on Koni adjustables.

All interior is black and unmarked apart from the ashtray lid.

It has upgraded Infinity speakers and Alpine headunit. The cars fitted with a Microscan Mi600 CAT2 immobiliser with certificate. Also fitted with a Falcon Pager alarm system with complete closure and remote boot pop.

The bodywork as with most mk1's let it down so it would make a good spares car. The front bumper skin is cracked (I have a spare) and the rear arches were repaired on the cheap after the CAT C so one side isn't to good.

I can deliver the car within the Leicestershire area up until the end of November when the insurance policy on it runs out.

If you want any more info or photos then please contact me.

ps. Come November i'll be forced to strip it but for now i'd rather just sell as a whole.

Really? If I broke it I thought i'd get more but not much so would be best and easier to sell as a whole. Taking into account the exhaust and suspension I figured £500 fair.

It's under priced in my opinion, so much so I'm tempted to come and buy it

As requested a few more pictures...

Also forgot to add the car has a manual choke and lazy eye kit. :thumleft:

Cold start, showing mileage, voltage and oil pressure.

Carpets could do with a hoover but the interior really is in great condition

Engine bay, i'm not one for detailing or cleaning it.

Frunk is nice and clean, the spare alloy and tyre are like new. There is a dent in the crash bar front where I cracked the front bumper but from what I can tell its still solid as its been replaced at some point.

Passenger front wing showing signs of rust.
Image

Drivers side looks beyond repair as its rusted behind the front splitter.
Image

Passenger side rear wing isn't to bad, some rust under the sill which may need attention.

Drivers side is worse, this will need some attention and your unable to jack the car at this point.

This is where the damage from the CAT C wasn't pulled out fully when the arch was replaced. Where the stripe would be.
