1994 GTS TRD widebody rep. good runner but no MOT

Post by RST »

Very reluctantly my yellow GTS widebody rep has to go. Allot of corrosion on the chassis -more than I can get repaired around me. May be a driveway DIY project but I lost confidence in the chassis now -most if not everything else apart from the front coilovers are OK as donor parts. Anything which looks a little rough I have good spare parts to replace apart from it needs 2 new rear lower strut bars (cancer bars).

The cars got 18" Rotas with the correct widths (8.5 and 10.5" I think) and offsets (no spacers) -tyres are too stretched for me but they are almost new Falkens. New tuner nuts, nearly new front grooved discs and green stuff pads. HSD coilovers -they look used, both front top mounts have seized though.

The speedo was changed from km to mph with a stef derner unit so is de-limited also if you are into track days.

Also have:

ZZW30 steering wheel
TRD duracon gear knob
Fully enclosed Jetex induction kit (bit like the BMC kit), BNIB
New black lexus rear light clusters (BNIB)
Full servicing kit including cam belt, pulleys, accessory belts, thermostat, oil and fuel filters, grade 7 platinum plugs, dizzy cap and arm (BNIB)
New stock radiator (BNIB)
Mix of used parts -front and rear JDM license plate holders, couple of good door / roof seals, mint rev 5 JDM foot mats, OEM boot liner
Cusco copy front and rear strut braces (oval profile ones)
Oil filter re location kit
Pair of JBL 6x9 speakers BNIB, there's an old amp already in the car under the passenger seat
Bride Brix recliner with a genuine Recaro / Bride SW20 drivers side seat rail

Air con was re-gassed recently and seems to be working OK. I just put 12 months road tax on it the other week. There's photos / details in the following thread:

http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic. ... sc&start=0

Car would have to be trailered away unfortunately. I know I am what most folk are called "remote", I can maybe offer to go some way on transportation costs (I don't know anyone with a trailer any more though). I don't have any way to break the car so not offering the parts separate just yet.

What's it worth? Easily more than £2,500 of salvageable parts??

I'm only home until Monday next week -car will have to sit for a month in storage after then while I am away working. I don't want to get totally shafted, but I'll take a big hit from the £4k I got the car for earlier in the year. I'll have to entertain reasonable offers on it.

Thanks for looking.

Sorry I forgot to say the car is in Culloden, Inverness. I don't want to put up contact details as I seem to have had barrages of junk mail / text from selling my other car recently but if you drop me a PM with any questions etc or an E-Mail address I'll get back to you.

Absolutely gutted for you, this is my biggest fear with mine as the kit is smooved in so will not be removeable for any welding etc.

I hope you can get back some cash for it, I would love to take it as spares for mine but it would cost to much to get it to Guildford I think.

I can check for you for next month if you like. Anything is better than nothing for it, it'll only cost me storage from today and it can't sit there indefinitely. I've seen to many cars just botched up and passed on as legit so my conscience won't let me go that route. I already know I'm in a tight spot with this one, thought better to post the ad straight away rather than waiting.

Sad times it looked a great car on the surface :( please let me know if you decide to break I'd be interested in the rota alloys , spoiler and a few other bits.

Cheers but I don't think I can say often enough, nothing will be broken for parts. I have nowhere or time to do it! At the moment it'll either have to go as a big loss on the back of a trailer -or to the scrappie as it is, and I don't want the latter!!!

Cheers, will check PM's next.

I've actually had a quote back from an Aberdeen based company who is used to moving these kind of cars. Budget prices for trailering are as follows:

Inverness to Falkirk: £300
Inverness to Leicester: £600

(I assume pro-rata the costs on +/- mileage etc)

Cheers,

We used a guy to pick up my Dad's capri from Oxford.. £230 to our door with up to £50k insurance im sure. He does runs all over the UK and ties it all together so that one run runs into the next and so he can lower his prices. spot on guy... called to say he had picked up the car on Monday afternoon and said he would be at our door for 7am Tuesday. He was 5mins early :) and car was sound.

Ill look out his details and pm you them as it may come cheaper at the time of moving it for you bud

^^Cheers for any links you can send us.

The quotes I got the other day were about half the price I've been quoted a few years ago but they're a starting point for the moment at least. I've offered to help with transport rather than just leave it to the buyer.

I've had allot of requests for various parts. At the moment I'm keeping everything together to help shift the car as a job lot. There is a few extras I wanted to keep as sweeteners against trailering costs to make it a bit more attractive but they're not necessarily listed publically. Think I'm getting out of the old car scene though so would rather see them go as a job lot.

Cheers
