Does the actual P/S work?
I had this issue myself recently it turned out to be a sticky relay.
Put the key in the ignition, turn the key to start(don't turn all the way to fire the car up) then back to off as normal, do this around 6-12 times it'll clear the light off the dash. Did this on my 92 G Limited fixed the light and made the power steering work too
