Not alot of progress going on at the moment got the gearbox off and cleaned up and used a lot of gunk as everything was covered in oil, i didn't realise the starter motor and alternator were silver in colour . Also painted the subframe black after a 2hour degreasing session. Just waiting for new parts to come now including cambelt kit water pump clutchkit and various other goodies
Got the chance of a bargain exhaust for the car this week so i could not resist buying it for the tubby, I wanted a single exit exhaust but a phoenix power departure two came up and for a bargain price of £70.00 so after a 240 mile round trip its now sitting in my hall way
When i saw the pictures of it i thought i would have to do some metal work to remove the dents but i was shocked when i saw it in the flesh as it is very minor
Not a bad day today
The sun has been out today so got cracking with the engine build
First things first was to use the homemade tool of the week to lock out the flywheel.
Spent the morning putting new camshaft seals, cambelt kit and water pump on the engine, last weekend i fitted the new clutch, driveshaft seals and put the gearbox back onto the engine.

If all goes well should hopefully have a working car next weekend
Not really done much to the tubby for a while, Still having issues with running problems so tomorrow the cars going for a ride on a trailer to get sorted out so thought i best give it a quick clean....
First real wash its had since owning the car and paintwork doesn't look to bad, Hopefully the next post and pictures will be a fully working car
Fingers crossed. Got to get it done as i took the family out to wicksteed park last weekend and spotted the jae banner and thought got to get the car their this year
Thankyou for the kind words, I have not had the car on the drive for about 4 or 5 weeks as it has been at my local specialists in the area to have the running issues fixed and a whole host of other issues sorted out.
But the good news is its all ready for collection so picking it up on friday
Itching to get it back now and start driving it. The only question now is do i take it over to jae on sunday.
The tubby has officially been back on the road for 9 days now
enjoying every chance i get to drive it and the noise from the induction kit followed by the turbo is so addictive.

The only problem i have now is after a week of driving it i want more power so i wonder where my hard earned money will be thrown at next year

My mate is upping the power on his elise so i have to naturally make sure the tubby is still quicker
After having a tidy up in my mr2 stash box which has now over run into half of my shed, i came across a lockwood stainless steel cover for the clocks which i had forgot that i had, so after cutting the packing open i placed them over a spare set of clocks that i have.
The only problem now is do i fit it into the tubby and buy some plasma dials to finish it off i can not make my mind up
Any suggestions would be great or pictures of other members modifications to the clocks.

don't go for plasma, they completely cheapen the interior, see shinnys mod to the clocks, costs about a fiver and looks fantastic, a few of us have done it now, very simple DIY and your choice of colour, not to mention it looks totally OEM
