On C16 or with improved breathing it could probably do more, but I kind of feel that's enough for now!

Totally agree and very impressive although can't really bring displacement into it as the 2gr does its thing without any forced air, 325bhp is my stock starting point :)

Wow....just wow, that torque "curve" is awesome...more of a straight line than a curve...so impressed, must be mental to drive

Could something similar be acheived based on a 7A-FE block rather than using the uber rare HKS stroker kit :-k

Seriously don't even think about it. Completely mental idea as I told Toni some 9 years ago!

Are you saying you think that what Toni has done is mental Lauren

Or just the 7A idea ?

I'm always surprised that people try and work out flywheel figures when there are are accurate figures to work from right there! If you want to compare apples with apples, here are some 2GR-FE plots on the same dyno.

Lower line is naturally aspirated, upper line is supercharged.

Image

The plots are from quite conservative "safe" maps for my 24hr endurance car so you could consider that the peak figures would be another 10bhp or so far higher. I don't think we've seen a naturally aspirated 2GR-FE with more than ~270bhp on Thor's dyno.

Suffice to say that Toni's car would beat an equivalent n/a V6 engined rival, particularly towards the top end of the rev range.

I really rather fancy twincharging a GT86. :eye:

Someone tell me I'm stupid, quickly. Thanks.

Hi Patrick, is that at the wheels or fly? I'm regularly seeing 325bhp and 290lbs.ft from my 2gr swaps. Below is a typical graph from one of mine...

Sorry for the mini thread hijack.... Looking forward to seeing it Toni, a very special car indeed :thumleft:

Yes and I told her so some nine years ago.

Any thoughts of twincharging are fairly mental to be fair. ;)

It's at the hubs - flywheel figures are little more than (educated) guessing and since a lot of what we do these days is motorsport related we need to deal is absolutes.

That said, I'll be more than happy to quote flywheel figures for our 2UR-GSE V8:

What's that headed for Patrick? GT86 at a guess...?

I may have to pick your brains on a Rotrex Beams project in the future - I believe you've worked with both charger SW20s and beams engines!

Yup, what's the fastest V6 mk1 to date???

Unless I'm wrong, a cam'd 1MZ posted a 12s at the pod sometime ago :)

I imagine the 2GR's given a fair pop would match or exceed that.

I don't want to end up hijacking Toni's triumphant twincharger thread so I'll try and make this the last non-related post! Yes, the V8 is for the GT86:

Image

We have three of them at the moment. One on the dyno, one in the car and another in bits for research and development. We've built our own dry sump for it too:

Actually, we've got a couple of supercharged BEAMS projects under consideration at the moment. I'm returning my V6SC mk3 to normally aspirated to race in the new Roadsports series which means I'll have three 2GRFE superchargers to do something with.

tonigmr2 wrote:Well I clearly need to drag against a V6 conversion, LOL

No, you need to race one. On a circuit...

There's a 1MZ equipped AW11 with a TRD centrifugal supercharger ready to roll out of our workshop. It dynoed just above the peak figures for a stock 2GRFE, but with a greater area under the curve so better legs in the mid range.

That dry sump is a work of art.

If you're interested in selling the 2gr SC units let me know Patrick :thumleft:
