Before fitting heater and wiper motor, decided to refit washer bottle and hoses, re-wrap loom and fit new side panel as the old one was showing its age.
New panels from Noble don't fit, so some careful filing and drilling sorted that problem, and job completed with new rubber trim.
Looking much tidier now. New coolant hoses and pipes test fitted. 2nd air intake fitted. Tomorrow is heater and wiper motor.

Carol is VERY understanding! I was up at 6 yesterday to drive to High Wycombe to pick up a front splitter, and got back to spend the afternoon on the Noble.
And spent this afternoon on the Noble too.
So, all wiring tidied up and finished. Heater bolted in and sealed. Washers fitted. Wiper motor bracket and motor replaced with new and fitted. The chassis/bulkhead is finished.
Now to the radiator. Being oversized, i knew none of the mounting holes would line up, so i ordered it with no mounting holes at all.
I've jigged it into position to start the measuring and marking up.

It's all coming together nicely. Looks like we both might just have complete cars in time

Re: Noble M500 Upgrades & Overhaul
Not far off now. Phew!
Oil cooler hose and unions arrived from Goodridge today. I've used Goodridge's 800 series hose, the latest generation hose, the lightest available on the market, as used by all F1 and GT teams. Weighs less than half of other hoses, with the unions at 20g each! Stainless braid is not used - instead an aramid/polyester woven fibre is used for both its strength and lightweight properties.
Radiator now fitted. New custom hose kit from SFS, and Tridon (USA) hose clamps. Fully stainless, 12mm wide with radiused edges, and a liner inside to prevent the cutouts in the clamp damaging the hose. Lloyds approved for marine use to 3 bar.

That oil cooler is a sharp looking bit of kit.
Have you any experience with Setrab coolers? I have been recommended one for a RotrexSC.

Setrab make top quality kit. The use male-to-male unions to join hoses to cooler, which adds about an inch to the fully installed height. I chose Mocal to keep the cooler install as low a profile i could.
Mocal, Setrab and Goodridge all make top quality coolers.

Re: Noble M500 Upgrades & Overhaul
Fitted air intake hoses this evening, so i now have the n/s finished.
Original cheap horns were rottten, so i decided on a Stebel Nautilus, the Compact model. Designed for motorbikes, it is twin tone, 139db, and fully weatherproof. I then discovered it was discontinued, but at vast expense, i shipped one in from a dealer in Australia.
Next problem, find somewhere to fit it. The dual air intake hoses were not fitted to early Nobles, so the horn was fitted where i intend fitting one of the hoses.
So found a space in the radiator intake, far enough back to allow room for the 2nd oil cooler that will be fitted at a later date.
Next job is finish o/s hoses.

Re: Noble M500 Upgrades & Overhaul
Good day today all round.
Spent couple of hours checking Craig's car over in anticipation of the Le Mans trip. Everything perfect.
Then onto the Noble. O/S/F wheel fitted, and down onto all 4 wheels. Slowly pushed out of garage.
Hooked up battery, turned it over, and after a couple of tries it burst into life.
Switched off. Filled with fresh Toyota Forelife coolant. Freash PAS fluid. Hooked up engine rad fans tempoarily and started up again and let it warm up. Checked for leaks - none. Checked all modified electrics for faults - none.
I now have cabin ventilation and wipers. Novelty!
So tomorrow change sticking accelerator cable, connect ventilation hose, fit and align clam, wire up new horn and clam electrics.
Then drill and bolt in fans and bulkhead panel. Across to workshop for 4 wheel alignment and finally MOT.

Top efforts yesterday Pete, both on my car, and your own! The front end work looks fantastic in the flesh.
When I heard it fire up, I forgot how good the Noble Twin turbo V6 singing through a Roush exhaust actually is!

Remember, the heater fan hasn't worked for 3 years, and the wiper motor only worked in the dry. so it feels quite special to have everything working again!
New heater box is £1200 from Noble, and it took me a year to find a mint late used one for £400. Wiper motor from Noble is £270!
