[Mk2] [NA] Low Oil level light on, unplugged sensor and bridged, still on?

Post by Haden693 »

Hi everyone,

My MR2 has it's oil level warning light illuminated on the dashboard, I have drained and added new oil to the full mark and the light is still on, after doing some research I found that sometimes the sensor can be faulty...

However, after locating and unplugging the sensor, I bridged the connection with some copper wire and the light stayed illuminated. Now the question I have is...

If the plug was bridged with copper wire and the light is still on, could it be another area of the car that is causing an issue or could it simply be down to bad wiring to the plug?

Thanks all!

Oil level sensor is a sensor, not a switch. So simply plugging or unplugging it will not extinguish the bulb.

Just remove the bulb.
