Turbo boost issues..

Post by Zentral »

I've been running 15psi without issue, Yesterday the car won't let me boost past 12 psi, I can't find any leaks, it holds 12 fine and does not drop off, I have turned my mbc off totally to test, it now boosts what it used to, 10psi solid, what would that eliminate?
Would that mean the mbc is duff?

Unsure its related but near the same time I picked up an idling issue' 1300rpm when warm..

I have not cleaned the icv yet, would that retard my boost?? I did look in the maf and seems to shut properly.

I have not changed or done anything to thhe car before now, I have all supporting mods for 15psi inc an hks fcd, (I did adjust that the other day though)

Also I turned the boost up to check it had not closed by itself, it did nothing...this was when it was not giving more than 12psi..

Helpppppp!!!

High idle could be a water temp sensor issue, the green plug sensor. I'd replace that if it hasn't been done recently

Not sure if it's the same setup on the Rev2 but on our Rev3 we had a vacuum pipe on the back of the inlet manifold which had split. Idle was quite high and performance was sluggish. Chopped off the broken bit and refitted the hose which transformed the car.

That said, if you've checked all of these things, it might be worth replacing the MBC and seeing how it responds. MBC's aren't expensive anyway.
