I completed the stage one of my engine bay tidy/dress-up... first to get some treatment was to fit some strut braces, I recently acquired some front and rear Motoria strut braces that I painted the end fittings up red, and colour matched the standard Toyota cross brace in the same colour. These were fitted and looked like this:

after:

Another thing that I have been trying to get done for a few months is to remove the wheels and give them a good polish up, as the outer rims have discoloured due to not being laquered... a bit of Autosol and some elbow grease bought them up a treat:

I managed to source an original Revision 5 spoiler for a decent price, although it does need a bit of work to get it back up to scratch - namely a good DA polish (due to dull paint) and to repair one of the fixing points:

I also managed to source some used Revision 6 low rise headlights from the good old 'bay-of-E', I managed to fit these over the weekend too, with the help of PeteV6R5 to complete all the electrical gubbins and actually get them working... I forgot the before photo though, but we all know what the old style look like:

I've now fitted my rev5 spoiler and given the car a damn good detail... here it is as it stands today:

...things waiting to be done, paint the front strips by the clear toblerones to match the car, re-paint the spoiler and clean up the wheels again (the only problem with white wheels)

That is all for now...

...phew!

Do you ever get trouble for your front plate?

I have been considering a plate of those dimensions for my new TOM's bumper. Jap plate width but shortened height. Expose more radiator and look less huge!

i have same size front plate mate and when the police stopped me for my window tints i asked about it and they said there was no problem at all as it was clear and visible :)

i know mine looks slightly bigger for some reason but it fits an import holder exactly like that 1 and its 13"x4"

Never had a problem... I did once get stopped by the police who caught me doing 42 in a 30 by using the radar on the front plate and they never mentioned it

...although I do change it for a standard one for the MOT just in case

Thanks man, I was gutted when I had to put that one up for sale, I did have to bow down to peer pressure, but I think I have a better car now in the rev3... the rev5 had pretty major rust issues around the rear wheel arch whereas the rev3 has no rust whatsoever

All the pics work for me, which one's are you missing in particular?

Hi mate, yeah, it's coming along nicely and is pretty much where I want it to be... for now (maybe a turbo or V6 conversion in the future, you never know)
All's well cheers mate, I see Vinny now has your Turbo... have you got a new project?
