Gaugeing intrest/whats it worth....?

Post by stace110 »

I'm thinking of selling my 1998 rev 5 n/a and getting a TUBBY...

Its a cosmos blue t bar on 114k full service history and one privious owner before me.
I have every mot from new and every tax disc with rakes of reciept adding to thousands.
Ive up graded the front side lights as the old ones were a bit dull.
It currantly has a japspeed exhaust
Tax and mot
Almost new tyres with recipt for £390
KnN 57i induction kit

The bad
Its had a shitty repair on the front wing ....but im picky !
And one of the sills has a patch of weld on it ....

Thats it realy .....
If you look on Members profils and look for the TOMS KIT POST by philmr2 you can see pics .

Sadly, I'd expect south of £2000.

People now are buying MR2s on condition and class. The mileage is high which will put some punters off but I am sure there will still be interest. Just how much you get for it depends on a lot. As a rev5 it should be worth a lot – but like you've said a little bit of rust here and a dent there, drops the value since there are so many available. Big servicing things like timing belts, regular oil changes, regular ignition system maintenance, etc. all help a lot.

Cosmos Blue is a good colour though, there were only 1500 made :thumleft:

It will all come down to finding a buyer who wants a T-bar NA :thumleft:

Best of luck with your sale.

Don't take my advice here as gospel – you will get more if you are a good seller and you have time to make a good job of it. I had absolutely no time to sell my previous MR2 (white, rev3, import NA) and in the end I practically gave it away. If yours is taxed and tested and so on, I am sure you won't have much trouble. You may well get more than £2000.

Once more, best of luck!
