[Mk2] [Generic] Rear wheel arch rolling, what about the sidestrips?

Post by GT4Ever »

Next Saturday I'm getting the rear wheel arches rolled of my MK2. I was just wondering if anyone else had this done to his car, and what you did with the sidestrips.

The sidestrips mount on the inside of the wheel arch of the MR2. So did you just only roll the upper part of the arch, and did this give enough room for the wheels? Or did you also roll the piece of metal where the strips connect to, and if so what did you do with the strips mounting?

I'm getting mine done by a professional so I'm pretty sure it will be ok, but I'm just curious what will happen with the strips, and if it might be a good idea to remove them already by forehand before getting the arches rolled.

Anyone? Pics would be great! I will update the topic with pics of mine after the weekend. :D

I had mine rolled by arch enemy last year.
They used a disc cutter to trim the edge of the side strips in situ.
Looks fine and they did a great job of rolling the arches.
No paint damage and running 255 40 17's now.
They use a heat gun to allow the paint to flex while flexing the arch.
Hope that answers the question?
