hi just had timing belt done and now it had a strange noise all I can say it sounds like is the noise of paper in a fan but its not that is thrre anything I can check or anything I can do to narrow down the problem cheers

Can you narrow it down to a certain area? I had a rattle at certain revs which turned out to be a knackered tensioner. Was yours replaced along with the belt?

Loose heatsield maybe? Fanbelt a bit loose? Is the alternator turning smoothly? Have you got a piece of paper stuck in your engine bay fan? How is it running- the engine pulling strongly? If not maybe the timing belt is a tooth out?

Lots of things to check, probably something very easy to fix

Take it back and get the garage to sort it.
